On Thursday evening Zakir and I took Bilal to meet his teacher and see his classroom. The plan was to meet in the courtyard for popsicles and then later tour the classroom, but there were scattered thunderstorms all day, so we had to pass on the outdoor part, and went straight to his classroom. His teacher, Mrs. Benson greeted us at the door and directed us what to do. Bilal was rather shy, and kept hiding behind either me or Zakir. Typical for him, when he experiences something new. But I don't think it will be long before he really gets into the groove of things.

Such a colorful, happy room! I'm sure it will be a great school year.

We located Bilal's locker and put away his school supplies. Locker number 11! Can you see the look of slight skepticism on his face?

And then Bilal sat down and checked out his desk

He has his own little pouch on the wall for tags, etc to go in

And after the obligatory forms that needed to be signed, and after picking up some cndy that Mrs. Benson had left for Bilal at his desk, we headed back home, checking out the playground on the way to the car

I have a feeling Bilal will be making some fun memories this year.

Wow! Can you believe it's already time? Sebastian will be starting school full-time this fall too. He's pretty excited - I think I'm the one who isn't ready!
