Bit of an anti-climax

So it's another chilly day in the South. Highs today were close to 22 degrees. Brrrrrr! It did snow yesterday, but very few places had any accumulation at all. This is about the best we got:

Not very impressive, eh? Well it was enough to have the kids' schools close early; Safa's at 1:30 and Hamza's at 11:30. Actually it was more the concern about ice on the roads than snow that prompted the early school closings. Today Hamza's started 2 hours late (wouldn't have made much of a difference since the temperature never did go high enough to melt ice), and Safa's was cancelled completely. So she'll have a day to make up later in the year. The roads have been quite empty, seems like the ill-equipped decided to stay home after all, and that's a good thing. Bilal has been begging to go out and play, but I just didn't want to go out with temperatures in the low twenties and wind chill in the teens. There is news that it might warm up a bit tomorrow. 'Bout time! We did have flurries through most of the day today, but again, no accumulation. It would be nice to have just enough for the kids to have a bit of fun, maybe something like we got in March of this past year.

We've scheduled out office Christmas party tomorrow evening. I know, I know, it's so far out from Christmas already! But we just couldn't seem to coordinate a date in December. This year we are having it at the office, where there will be plenty of space for the kids to run around, instead of at our house. Plus it will be closer to where all of our staff lives, so less driving for them. We have a nice lady who goes by 'Meme' catering for us; all we have to do is show up on time! No other big plans for this weekend, just braving the cold!

That scrunchy little Bilal face enjoying the snow is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen. I hope your temps rise soon! Have a great weekend. xo
