Back to work, already????

I hope everyone's New Year has started off well. We are at the end of four relaxing days, and it's back to work tomorrow for Zakir and me. Safa and Hamza start school on Wednesday. We spent three out of the four days at home, only going out for brief errands, and yesterday we went to Atlanta for part of the day. Even then, we left at 9 and were back by 5:30pm. We make a quick trip to Ikea. Of course even a quick trip there is a little over an hour. We pretty much knew what we needed to pick up, and hardly even stopped to browse. Then we ate Indian food at Global Mall, ordered and picked up some Pakistani food from one of our favorite restaurants Mughal's, and stopped by a specialty store to pick up a few things. Not much, really. I have spent more time in my PJs over the past couple of days than I have in a long time. We had been thinking about going down to Mobile but honestly, I just felt like we needed to relax. And a couple more days off would be even nicer, but duty calls, so we'll be in the office tomorrow, bright and early.

I mentioned that my little camera died a few days ago, so I was renting out Safa's for $2 a week. Didn't really take many photos, though. Today we found another nice little Canon at Staples, at a price too hard to pass up on, so we went ahead and bought it. Still another 'point and shoot', but even more compact than my previous one. I think it will suit my needs perfectly, at least for now. Here is one of the first photos Hamza took from my new camera. I think it's cute, makes Bilal look like a student, with his book and a mug resting right next to him.

I have my usual Tuesday off this week, which also happens to be the last day of Winter vacation for Safa and Hamza. So maybe we'll get to spend a nice day together before they get back into school mode. Right now the biggest challenge is to get them up out of bed before 10am! They have been so lazy!
