It breaks my heart whenever I read about a child losing their battle with congenital heart disease. It jolts me into a reality that I would rather hide away from, but you can't hide from the devastating truth that congenital heart disease takes lives. For a while now I have been following the story of Faith, a brave young fighter who was born with congenital heart disease and spent much of her life in and out of the hospital with many medical complications. Today she lost her battle after a prolonged hospital course. My heart aches for Faith's family.

I was so sorry to read about Faith. What a courageous little girl. My heart goes out to her family...I can't even begin to imagine their pain.

As heart moms, these stories touch us in a way that others don't always understand. How thankful we need to be for each healthy day and successful surgery...

Hope Bilal is doing well. He's getting to be such a big boy!

Heart Hugs,

Wendy (& Emma, too!)

Mina, Thanks for sharing this. It's heart breaking to think what this family must be going through. However, it's also a reminder of how blessed many of us are to have children that have recovered and remain healthy.
We have so much to be thankful for.
