Trussville's celebration on the Mall

Balloons are so fascinating!

Today Trussville hosted its first ever Fourth of July fireworks display. The festivities started at 6pm, and ended in the fireworks show at 9. We spent a couple of hours there, mostly watching what seemed like at least half of our city milling around on the Mall. There were giant inflatable toys with lines of parents with their kids waiting to have a turn, some food stalls, and a live music show. Hamza and Bilal played frisbee while we waited for the fireworks show to start.

Unfortunately the view from where we were sitting was slightly obscured by the trees, but we still enjoyed the show. Bilal was not thrilled, he kept covering his ears and crying "Noisy!" Of course it was also past his bedtime and he really wanted to be home in his crib. Maybe he'll enjoy it more next year.

Waiting for the fireworks to begin

And finally, the fireworks, which lasted about 25 minutes.
