Friday night out

It's six days before Bilal turns two! Stay tuned, I hope to have a montage ready by then.

This evening we checked out a new seafood restaurant, and had some calorie dense Southern fare. It threw Zakir's diet out the window! He plans to get back on track tomorrow. Hamza ordered, of all things, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich which came standard with fries on the side. Hamza! It's a seafood restaurant. He's gotten into ordering more 'sophisticated' food from the regular menu, but today it must have just seemed like a kid's meal kind of day. Bilal ate grits and hush puppies.

Speaking of Bilal, he got into a bit of a mess this morning while I was at work. Zakir was upstairs working on some files while Bilal made his way downstairs into the kitchen when Zakir wasn't looking. When he realized, he went downstairs and found Bilal standing in front of the kitchen sink on a dining chair, wiping his head with a wet dish sponge, with his hair soaking wet, and asking for a "hair-tut". So when I came home his hair smelled like wet dish sponge. He got a bath in the middle of the day, but I kept imagining that he still had that musty smell in his hair. He gets into everything! He's actually been rather cranky today, I even accused of Zakir turning him into a monster while I was gone (of course Zakir denied it). We were rather leery of taking him out to dinner in the mood he was in, but it is our Friday night ritual, plus we were meeting friends. He did fairly well at the restaurant, not his best, but OK. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for him. I have to work this weekend, ugh!

OK, the sheet rock is up in the sunroom, and this evening we picked out stain for the beadboard ceiling, paint and the ceiling fans. Work has been extremely slow, with only one builder coming out to work for the past 3 days. We were hoping to have had the project wrapped up a week ago, but there's still a lot to do. I'll take some more pictures and post them tomorrow so everyone can see the progress.
