Another room completed, and other news

Safa's room is just about completed, all we have to do is hang the drapes, and it will be time to move on to Hamza's room. I think I'll wait a few weeks before starting on it, plus I'll have to take out the masking tape again, since I'll be painting in his room. I dread the taping part. It amazes me how I got round to taping an entire wall in Bilal's room to paint stripes. I don't think I'd do it again in a hurry!

Friday we were invited to a graduation party, and Saturday a birthday party, so it's been quite busy. Today the kids had their Sunday School graduation and awards, no more Sunday School until August, we pretty much go by the regular school schedule. Maybe that means a couple of late mornings over the summer (if Bilal cooperates, that is).

I also thought I'd go ahead and post the 'before' picture since our builder is scheduled to start work on our house on Tuesday. The deck will be torn down, and a room constructed, which will communicate with the main house after the wall is knocked down. Basically it should add a lot of square footage to our existing sunroom, hopefully without compromising the light. We plan to have lots of windows and a couple of skylights with a gable roof. Hopefully the 6-8 weeks of disruption in the home will be worth it. The second story window you can see right above the deck is Bilal's room, so I'm thinking I might have to move him in order to preserve those long naps I (er, I mean he) can't do without!

Still jealous of those long naps!!

It sounds like the new construction will be very nice! I'm excited to see the after pics. Good luck with everything.

Wow - I'm very impressed with your decorating skills! As someone whose house is always being worked on, I understand how much time and effort goes into it. I hope the construction goes smoothly!
